In turn, MiSTer has limitations on what platforms it can emulate and on what types of hardware form factors. And while the MiSTer project is constantly developing and supporting more platforms and arcade games, it is limited to a strict set of FPGA hardware. I previously covered the wonder that is the MiSTer FPGA project which is one of the most accurate ways to experience a lot of classic games outside of original hardware. While the classic gaming utopia experience hasn’t materialized just yet, a lot of progress has been made in the last couple of decades.
